I was at my former school, Indiana University, this past weekend recruiting students for my company. It was a great time as always going back to Bloomington and seeing old friends, faculty, and coaches. On Thursday Night (Sept 25th) we went to Yogi’s to have a meet and greet dinner with some of IU’s brightest students. There were about 20 students as well as a few faculty members.
I was approached by one fine lady by the name of Gretchen Handlos. She’s the Director, Graduate Accounting Programs & IS Graduate Programs at Indiana University – Kelley School of Business. She came up and thanked me once again for something I did for her when I was a junior in college. I first met her when I was thinking about possibly going in to the MSIS program and was looking for some more information about it. After a fairly lengthy conversation I found out that she had ties to Illinois who we just happened to be playing that week. She said she’d never been to a football game so I told her I’d give her my player tickets for her and her kids for that week. It was something I had completely forgotten about, but something she never forgot about. It definitely put a smile on my face to know I had even the smallest impact in someone’s life! It was a very successful trip and hopefully there will be many more to come.
